Applications for free school meals and clothing grants for school session 2022/2023 are now open.
You should apply for free school meals and a clothing grant if you are on a low income and receive a qualifying benefit. We also make payments in lieu of free school meals during school holidays (spring, summer, October and Christmas). You can only get these if you have applied for free school meals. If you apply for a clothing grant by Friday 15 July and include all the required supporting documentation, then the council will be able to process your application and make a payment to you before the start of the new school term. Visit MyAccount and log in to apply. Our New School Values
Today, as part of Pupil Vision Week, we are announcing our new school values. Five simple words which sum up who we are and what we believe in. These values came from you and from us. We spoke to pupils in every year group and all the staff, and when we looked at all the responses, these were the words that shone through for everyone. We hope that we can all value the same things and place our efforts on being true to our values, true to our school and true to ourselves. Well done to S4 Chemists who attended the Chemistry discovery day at Herriot Watt University as part of Salters science festival. The pupils successfully prepared and analysed their own Aspirin in the labs and found out more about the opportunities that studying chemistry can lead to.

Linwood High School is looking to build on our established good practise in becoming more sustainable. We are planning to look at recycling school uniforms. Many of our children rapidly grow out of their uniforms with very little wear and these could easily be recycled. If you have any items of uniform (black trousers or skirts, black jumpers or cardigans, blazers or school jackets, school shirts, ties, PE tops or even school bags) that you feel have plenty of use in them, could you drop these items into the school over the next few weeks? We have kindly been donated some clothes rails for our use. Our wonderful senior pupils will be taking the lead on co-ordinating this.
