Book Week Scotland This year, Book Week Scotland ran from Monday the 27th of November to Sunday the 4th of December. To celebrate, the library was lucky to be able to host a couple of creative writing workshops with YA author Victoria Gemmell. Groups of selected S1 and S2 pupils took part in the workshops on Monday morning, where Victoria spoke about how she finds inspiration for her stories in the world around her. Pupils then separated into smaller groups to come up with elements for their own stories. The session ended with Victoria bringing the different elements from all the groups together, and the pupils coming up with a plot to connect all their different ideas. Both the S1 and S2 groups came up with some excellent ideas, including a haunted fairground and a statue that moves in the night! A big thank you to Victoria for joining us, we had a great time. You can read Victoria's blog about her visits to Linwood and other schools across Renfrewshire at her blog: victoriagemmell.com/2017/12/04/creative-renfrewshire/
