Details of the Easter Revision School sessions for 2018 can be found below and in the Letters & Publications page under School Information. These details were correct at time of publication. Today we bid a sad farewell to Mr Wilson. Mr Wilson has been Acting Depute Head Teacher with us at Linwood High School since April 2016 and has had a calm, caring, positive and aspirational impact on our pupils, staff and wider school community. We wish him all the very best and look forward to seeing him when he drops in to visit in the future.
Thanks to all of our pupils who participated in our non-uniform day and donated to St. Vincent's Hospice. We raised over £280 which will be added to our total for the sponsored walk. If you haven't already donated, you can still do so on our JustGiving page.
Tomorrow, Thursday 29th March, will be a non-uniform day in aid of St. Vincent's Hospice. Please bring a £1 donation if you wish to wear non-uniform.
We did it! 11.7 kilometres in rain, cold and sun. 7 pupils and 3 staff in total, plus family and pets! Here are some highlights from the walk. If you haven't already sponsored the pupils directly, please use this link to sponsor us through our JustGiving page. Our pupils were absolutely fantastic, especially as they had never walked this kind of distance before, and we are very proud of them! Thanks. We were delighted to have been mentioned by Sandra Black, Chief Executive of Renfrewshire Council, in her blog this week, where she commented: "Earlier this month I visited Linwood High School. [...] I was struck by the vibrancy in the school, how engaged the children were in their learning and the great partnership ethos amongst the management team [...] very positive about the pupils, the school and their ambitions for the children's learning."
Just a reminder that the school will be open this Saturday, 24th March, from 10am to 12.30pm to allow any young person an area to study.
Cameron Johnstone took part in Go dance 2018 with his all male dance group Overdrive and was selected to be interviewed by STV Live at 5 on 7th March he also helped choreograph the dance piece performed at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow.
Many congratulations to Cameron on this achievement! As previously posted, a group of pupils and staff from Linwood High School will be participating in a 10k walk on Sunday 25th of March to support and raise funds for St. Vincent's Hospice. For those of you who would like to support us through sponsorship, please find a link below to our JustGiving page.
https://www.justgiving.com/LinwoodHighSchool Thanks! Mrs Price A massive congratulations to our Young Enterprise Team Revamped on their amazing wins yesterday. To watch our fantastic students compete with their peers from Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire and achieve such success was a very proud moment. One judge commented that in 22 years of being involved in Young Enterprise he had never seen such a good product. Outstanding achievement for all involved. Well done Mrs Smith and Mrs Nelson and to Miss Maciver, Mr Magee and Mr Thorburn for all your hard work in supporting the team.
Miss Macartney Just a reminder that the school will be open this Saturday and next from 10am to 12.30pm to allow any young person an area to study.
