On Thursday 10th October 2019 the whole school will be taking part in a sponsored walk arranged by the S6 Fundraising team. Your child will soon be bringing a sponsorship form home for this event. The money raised will go towards school funds. Pupils will be able to enjoy a barbecue on their return to school after successfully completing the walk.
The approved holiday dates for this session are now posted on the Letters & Publications page. These include May day - which has been confirmed as Friday 8 May 2019 - and additional Inservice Days.

While we await the full implementation of Show My Homework, we have launched a Homework Hub on the website to help our pupils and parents/carers keep up-to-date with what homework has been issued. There are dedicated pages for S1, S2, S3, S4 and S5/6 where staff can post details of what the homework is and when it is due. Staff training to contribute to the hub is being rolled out this week, but some homework has already been posted. You can find the Homework Hub under the School Information Menu.
Celebrating Renfrewshire
Linwood High School has applied to the Celebrating Renfrewshire Fund to host a GET LINWOOD MOVING event where the school will host a multi sports day for the community and pupils to access a wide range of sport and healthy eating opportunities from team sports to dance to skateboarding and yoga. We are through to the second stage of the funding and now its up to you to vote for us! Our application has been uploaded to the Young Scot voting platform at http://voting.youngscot.org. This will allow young people aged 12-25 years have a direct say on which projects should be funded. Young people are invited to vote between 16th – 25th September. Votes cannot be cast before the 16th September. Each young person aged 12 – 25 years who lives in Renfrewshire, will have 3 votes to cast on the projects they want to see happen in the local partnership area where they live. Votes will be cast using the Young Scot website, using a Young Scot number. If a young person does not have a Young Scot number, a temporary number can be requested from Renfrewshire Council Youth Services by calling 0141 889 1110. The projects with the most votes per local partnership area will be funded. Voting results will be announced at the Celebrating Renfrewshire announcement event on Wednesday 25th September, 5pm – 7.30pm in the Tannahill Centre, 76 Blackstoun Rd, Paisley PA3 1NT. VOTE FOR LINWOOD HIGH SCHOOL – GET LINWOOD MOVING! Wishing our S4s well on their work experience this week. We hope you have a rewarding and enriching experience of the world of work.
Many thanks to all friends and family who came along to last night's Awards Ceremony at Linwood Parish Church. It was wonderful to see so many people sharing our celebration of our learners' successes and achievements. Thanks again to the Reverend Ross for hosting the event and to all the staff and pupils involved in making it such a successful event.
Just a reminder that the Awards Ceremony starts at 6.30pm Thursday 5 September with pupils to arrive at 6pm sharp. We're looking forward to celebrating the successes and achievements of our learners from session 2018-19.
Good Luck to all S4 pupils heading out on Work Placement next week.
A reminder that any pupil not attending a placement should be in school in class as normal. |
