What a fantastic effort from all involved in today’s Funky Tourist fundraising day for Children in Need 2020. Congratulations to the S6 Leadership Team for organising the events today! Just a reminder that the school will be closed on Monday 30th November for St. Andrew's Day. The school will reopen on Tuesday 1st December at 8.50 a.m.
A reminder that tomorrow is our Children in Need Fundraising Day. Pupils can come to school in their own clothes - as if going on holiday (weather appropriate clothing and no football colours) - for a £1 donation.
Please read the following update letter from Steven Quinn, Director of Children's Services, on the changes to Tier 4 restrictions from Friday and how this affects schools. This letter is also available via the Letters & Publications page.
•On Friday 27th November, we are having a Funky Tourist Non Uniform Day to raise money for Children in Need. Pupils are encouraged to come wearing a Hawaiian shirt, or look like they're going on holiday. As always, no football colours and wear weather appropriate clothing. Donations of £1 or more will be greatly appreciated.
•We will also be having a Teachers v S6 Netball Game, at Friday lunchtime. Guess Pudsey's Birthday and a raffle will be running throughout the week. Please find below the calendar of key dates for Parents & Carers for 2020-21. The calendar is also available via the Letters & Publications page. Please click the link below to read the letter below from Mr McKenna inviting S4 parents & carers to attend an alternative S4 parent/carer meeting.
Please read the following letter from Miss Macartney detailing our updated Covid-19 measures in school. This letter is also available on the Letters & Publications page. In order to support the wellbeing of young people isolating at home, a resource has been produced for pupils and parents/carers. The resource highlights information from our ‘Skills for Recovery’ programme where we focussed on ‘what you need to know’ and ‘what you need to do’ in order to look after yourself. The resource shares information and advice on regulating our feelings and also signposts to further supports if required. There is also a parent resource which duplicates the message shared with pupils while adding further signposts for parents seeking support.

The website will be updated daily with new businesses and sectors. However, I’d like to draw, your attention to the Healthcare sector as NHS Scotland have been very kind in developing a day in the life segments for some of their major roles. If you visit the “Insight into Industry Tab” this will highlight roles, routes and links to individual company pages. I will be promoting daily on social media so schools can be aware of what has been added.
