Rapid Response 2018 - Well done S2 who took part in the disaster response off-timetable event today in the sunshine for once! Thank you to June from Glasgow University and the Institute of Civil Engineers and to Michael from Black and Veatch for being our experts for the day. Congratulations to S4 pupils for gaining their Cycle Maintenance Award and thank you to Gerardo at Pedalwise for teaching them their spokes from their inner tubes and even getting them on a unicycle.
Congratulations and well done to Mrs Smith's S2 Personal Development class who raised an impressive £107 for Erskine Hospital with their bake sale today!
This session’s Forensics Club is now in its second week. So far pupils have carried out flame tests and soil analysis experiments. Mrs Whyte and Miss Morton are delighted with the enthusiasm shown by our Primary 7 visitors. Congratulations to all of our Young Enterprise pupils who all passed the Young Enterprise Scotland Exam! Fantastic achievement, well done!
The S2 Personal Development class are holding a Bake Sale on Monday 14th May in the Street Area at the morning interval to raise money for Erskine Hospital.
S1 had an amazing time at the Sky Academy yesterday. Thanks to Sky for having us and I think we can look forward to a few future TV careers from S1! For those of you who were unable to attend the Class of 2018 Leavers' Ceremony on the 27th of April, the highlights video, which attempts to condense 2 hours into 21 minutes, is now available on the home page of the website. It was an uplifting, inspiring but also very emotional day, as can be clearly seen.
We are very proud of our learners and what they have achieved in their learning journeys at Linwood High School and we wish them all the very best for their futures. "Work hard, be kind and amazing things will happen" A belated congratulations to Mrs Whyte who, not content with completing the London Marathon for charity, also completed the Stirling marathon last weekend. Another fantastic achievement for a worthy cause.
Could you please put a wee congratulations to Jacob, Kyle, Charlie and Emma (S3) for their recent success at the Glasgow and West of Scotland Branch Competition where they gained 4th place with the Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band in an extremely competitive category.
Greig (S6) played with the Grade 3 Johnstone Band who were 1st. Also a special mention for Emma who was awarded with the Endeaviour Award at the 75th Anniversary Dinner for the Johnstone Pipe Band. Emma was presented with an engraved practice chanter. Blazers
